When aging parents need to talk to adult children

This is kind of a fleeting thought, but there’s so much advice out there for people who need to talk to their aging parents about planning for the future, where’s the advice for aging parents who need to talk to their children, but the children don’t want to talk about it?

Everything you read implies that the adult children will have to bring up the topic because the aging parents are resistant, but I’ll bet there are lots of people out there where the situation is reversed.

I can say without a doubt that this is true. I have a brother (the middle child) who will run hard and fast if either of my parents try to talk to him about any of the issues that they will no doubt need to discuss soon. And if they don’t, he will not be the one to bring it up.
