Vacation Sandwich

Well, we’re on vacation!

It’s our first one since my mother died, and, my father had his back surgery, so, things are a little different for us this year.

We had a 10 hour drive, so, I spent most of yesterday making sure he didn’t sit for too long, and, that the kids didn’t kill each other.

Today, at the beach, I spent time making sure everyone was hydrated, had sunscreen on, and, that my father didn’t fall off the 3,000 mile, un-siderailed boardwalk because he can’t keep flip flops or beach shoes on his feet. His feet are to long, and, thin, or something.

Actually, don’t tell, but, we ended up buying him Crocs much to his chagrin, but, they’re working.

I’m working on trying not to feel responsible for him, but, I’m not there yet, so, I’m also knocking myself out to make sure he’s eaten enough, since, we tend to eat at odd intervals when we’re on vacation.

So, vacation isn’t relaxing for me quite yet, but, it’s a nice place, and, we’re having fun.
