Tangled Neuron Creates a Map of Recommended Alzheimer’s Doctors

Go over to the Tangled Neuron and help create a map of recommended Alzheimers doctors if you have any experience in this area.
Of course, there are additional things to consider when selecting a physician, but, personal recommendation ranks right up there for me.

Blogs win “Top Alzheimer’s Site” Awards

Two of my favorite blogs, Know-it-Alz, and, Minding our Elders each won a Top Alzheimer’s Site Award from Health Central.com.
Both Kathy and Carol are dedicated caregivers, and, you should be reading their blogs, if you aren’t already.
Congratulations to both of you!

He has Alzheimer’s, but, his sense of humor is obviously quite fine.
Go read this one, I laughed aloud at it.

“Which pill is that?” he asked.
“Your memory pill.” I said

I hope I’m that funny when I’m 79, Alzheimer’s or […]

Motion Sensors and Dementia

If tracking motion can predict dementia, then you can call me institutionalized right now. I often walk in circles at home trying to remember what I was doing, or, what I need to do next.
However:
Dr. Jeffrey Kaye of Oregon Health & Science University, which is placing the monitors in 300 homes of Portland-area octogenarians as […]

Visiting the sick and elderly, even when it’s hard

I thought you might enjoy The Saracastic Journalist’s account of a visit with her grandfather. It doesn’t need any words from me.
