June is Home Safety Month
Safety is a huge concern for everyone, especially for our aging parents and children.
June is Home Safety Month at the Home Safety Council, and, this year’s theme is “Hands on Home Safety”.
The public is challenged to make a home a safer place by assessing for the risks of the five leading causes of home injury – falls, poisonings, fires and burns, choking/suffocation and drowning.
The Home Safety Council website is full of helpful resources such as home safety checklists, tips on disaster preparedness, and, fire drills, and, there are also safety guides for different situations, and, populations including older adults.
