Internet use by seniors on the rise
According to a UK study, senior web-surfers are online longer than the age 18-24 crowd, though the younger ones access the Internet more frequently.
I guess it takes quite a while to forward all those e-mails.
I kid. Kind of.
My dad is a great example of an older Internet user adapting, and, even enjoying his time online.
He’s a teacher, but, until just the past couple of years, he rarely sent an e-mail, and, had to have help when he did that.
Now, he regularly uses e-mail, types documents, installs the DVDs that accompany his textbooks, and, is even collecting images to use in a PowerPoint lecture (he still has to have help with that).
But, in a totally unprecedented move, he’s now managing his bank accounts online, even set it up himself.
Next thing you know, he’ll have himself a MySpace page.
