Care.com

care.gif Finding reliable care for a senior can be stressful, and, time consuming, I’ve done it.

Care.com is a newly launched service that matches families and individuals with senior care, child care, per care, and, tutoring providers.

It is a subscription-based business, and, the fee is as low as $10/month for care seekers.

From the press release:

The website offers a single destination for people seeking expert advice and practical tools for finding the best options and resources that address their specific care needs. It also offers a reliable platform for qualified caregivers to promote services and connect with prospective families on a local and national scale.

It sounds like it might be a good option for back-up senior care, or, a companion to assist an older person if they are alone at home.

It could also be a way to find a trusted caregiver for aging parents who don’t live near family, or, to find help if you are new to town.

1 opinion for Care.com

Care.com looks like a good way to find tutors. The site may be relatively new, but I could still find two tutors in near my (rural) hometown!

Finding the right private tutors can be difficult, since you have to find someone with experience teaching a certain subject in a certain grade level. I think this site can really help you narrow down your search. There really is no substitute for actually sitting down with potential tutors or getting a sample lesson though.

Let’s just hope that the site keeps growing so that finding good tutoring services is an option for any family that needs it.
