Care for the ages
My youngest child, The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby (OK, so that’s not really his name, but, that’s how people inside the computer have come to know him over here) goes to daycare on a campus with several other services. In addition to senior living facilities, one of the services is an Adult Day Care. So, theoretically, if I had a parent unable to care for themselves, I could take both my youngest and my parent to the same daycare.
It’s a wonderful program for both the adults and the kids. As a matter of fact, The Preschooler Formerly Known as Busy Baby’s class gets to go to the adult program to interact on a regular basis and he has been a featured headliner for their entertainment for years now. Seems that demonstrations of his basketball prowess are regularly requested. Everyone wins here. The adults are well cared for and really enjoy the children and the children get extra opportunites for love and social interaction.
I found myself wishing there were more programs like this where the young and the old who need care assisance could come together, and, then I realized we used to call it “home”, but, unfortunately, it’s not possible for many people anymore.

Cant remember which show, but I’ve seen a news report on programs like that. Actually brought tears to my eyes, watching the young and the old interact. It truly is a brilliant idea, and like you said, a win win.
I had no idea they had those established locally, I can only hope they can set up more.
